Truth be told, America has always known race is a fiction. Let’s go back 150 years ago.
Negro slaves, New Orleans, 1863
Isaac and Rosa, slave children
These postcards were mass produced during the Civil War to drum up support for the Union cause.
Rebecca, Augusta and Rosa. Negro slaves.
Negroes all of them. By law and custom.
Emancipated slave girl. 1863
He prefers the Stars and Striped over the Confederate flag
United States flag 1861-1865 34 stars
Wrapped up in the flag of the north.
Bottom line: In just two generations, color, hair and racial appearance can change to an astonishing degree, changing the identity and nationality of people. America has always known this to be true, in particular Black people have always known this but had to pretend that “race” is some immutable, pre-ordained Manifest Destiny of God.
You dont need to be geneticist to see that race is a fiction. It exists in the minds of men. It is not a scientific phenomenon because if it were, it could be defined and quantified. This has never been achieved and not for want of trying.
