Wisconsin residents are being warned about a Salmonella outbreak, linked to melons sold at Costco and other stores, that’s sickened at least 60 people in four states.

No cases have been reported yet in Wisconsin, but the state Department of Health Services says the pre-cut melons associated with the outbreak were sold at Costco stores in New Berlin, Pewaukee, Menomonee Falls, Grafton, Bellevue, Grand Chute, Pleasant Prairie, Sun Prairie and Middleton.

Costco has recalled the pre-cut melons and mixed-fruit salads that contained them.

Consumers who purchased the products are urged to throw them away, the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection said in a news release.

People in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio have reported becoming ill from eating the contaminated melons. More than 30 have been hospitalized, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The melon also was sold in Iowa, Georgia, Kentucky and North Carolina. Stores that carried it in other states included Costco, Kroger, Trader Joe’s, Walgreens, Walmart and Whole Foods.
